SDG 5
Among the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, I find them all essential for our future, but I support with my lifestyle and my academic research mostly the 5th goal; gender equality. Concerning my projects on women’s rights, I did a research for the Greek Institute for the UN on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Αgainst Women (CEDAW). Additionally, as a member of ELSA Thessaloniki, I coordinated the public consultation during ELSA Day 2018 on the topic of “Gender Identity and Education”. My latest project as a law student was about the issue of abortion according to the Greek Penal Code. Lastly, I have been selected by ELSA International to be their runner-up delegate in the OHCHR on the CEDAW, taken place in February 2019, while gender equality was also the topic of CoE in ThessISMUN2019, where I was serving as the committee’s Secretary General.
NATO Deputy S.G.
Hello! I am Danai, I am 21 years old, I am studying the Law in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and in RhodesMRC2019 I will be the Deputy S.G. of NATO!
Dynamic, Creative, Free-spirited, Kind, Stubborn
Danai Vouziou was born in Thessaloniki in 1998, grew up in many different places in Greece and abroad (Belgium and USA) and she is now studying at the Faculty of Law of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. As far as her academic interests are concerned, she has a passion for human rights’ protection either on a national – constitutional or on an international level. She also speaks fluently English and French. Apart from the human rights, her other love is music since from an early age she has been singing and playing the guitar and she is currently studying Monody (classic singing). She has always been attracted to meeting new people from different cultural backgrounds and discussing social issues, so she found her joy ever since she has joined the MUN community! She has participated and overachieved as a delegate several times and she also had the honor to be a board member in ThessISMUN2019 and in RhodesMRC2019. As a Crisis Team member, she is determined to do her best along with her partners, in order to make the delegates’ experience even more fun and challenging and to test their cooperation, negotiation and crisis management skills.
RhodesMRC Memory
The happiest moment in my whole MUN journey so far was during the closing ceremony of RhodesMRC2018, when my best friend and I, participating for the first time in a double delegation, we heard our country’s name for the Best Delegation Award! We could not believe our ears, we stood up and hugged and we approached our board together with tears of joy to get our award, while our friends were applauding us! I will never forget this one..!!
