Scientific Committee

The Scientific Committee is the academic heart of RhodesMRC, entrusted with safeguarding the intellectual rigor, pedagogical value, and thematic relevance of the conference. As the body responsible for maintaining and continually elevating the academic standards of the simulation, it plays a pivotal role in shaping the learning experience offered to delegates, chairs, and educators alike.

Its responsibilities encompass the full academic lifecycle of the conference: assessing and refining proposed agenda topics, ensuring they reflect current global challenges and scholarly debates; reviewing and providing substantive feedback on all study guides; and establishing the methodological and qualitative criteria that define RhodesMRC’s academic identity. The Scientific Committee also supports the development of briefing materials, research frameworks, and training resources to ensure that participants engage with diplomacy and international governance in a structured, informed, and realistic manner.

The Scientific Committee is composed of distinguished university professors and researchers from disciplines central to international affairs, such as diplomacy, political science, law, economics, security studies, and regional studies, along with experienced officials from international organizations. Their expertise, combined with a commitment to education and scholarship, ensures that RhodesMRC remains a benchmark for academically grounded simulation conferences in Europe and beyond.
