SDG 8
For me, as a young person, Sustainable Development Goal No. 8 is of paramount importance. Unemployment and precarious work conditions pose a threat to the financial prosperity and social contribution of young people worldwide. In addition, discriminatory practices on grounds of age, gender, nationality and other factors hinder the entrance into workforce and professional success. This way, not only individuals, but also societies face great losses, due to the inability to take advantage of their untapped potential. That is why, among others, the educational system should become more attached to the needs of a constantly changing labour market and, more importantly, to prepare the future jobseekers for challenges that AI revolution brings into every single workplace.
ECHR President
Hello, everyone! I am Terpsithea, a final year law student from Thessaloniki. I welcome you to RhodesMRC, which this year celebrates its 10th anniversary, bigger and better than ever!
Resourceful, versatile, persistent, bold, composed
Terpsithea is a fourth-year law student in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is passionate about her studies and has a special interest in International Economic Law, EU law and the Law of Modern Technologies. She is a member of the editorial team of the law journal of ELSA Thessaloniki. On the same time, she writes articles on EU and ECHR law. She speaks English, German, Italian, Turkish, Russian and Esperanto. Her leisure time activities include reading, traveling and being the frontwoman of a rock band.
She started participating in EU, UN and regional organizations’ simulations two years ago. Through the experiences she has gained at the course of this journey, she discovered her interest in international affairs and strengthened her public speaking, research and teamwork skills. This year she will be taking part in Rhodes MRC for the third time and she is looking forward for the deliberations of the European Court of Human Rights to start.
RhodesMRC Memory
During the past two years I have made so many beautiful memories from RhodesMRC that it is difficult to choose one. However, one of my best memories happened last year, when I could not stop laughing while reading out loud the notes that came with donuts. It was truly a moment of amusement in a day full of productive work and fiery debates. Their content was so humorous and witty that it is hard to forget.
