SDG 17
“Leaving no one behind”. We can utilize this specific phrase as the core notion behind the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, an Agenda emphasizing towards a comprehensive approach to achieve sustainable development for all. During my academic life, I’ve came across the importance of these goals countless times. I can understand the significance each and every one of them could have in our everyday lives. So it is natural to me to be strongly in favor of them all. But if I had to choose, the 17th goal seems to be the most concrete of them all. Not only it pretty much sums up the previous 16, but also upholds the epicenter of a successful international agenda. It calls for a holistic international partnership. This also means compromise and reconciliation, all for the greater good. That means progress and progressive thinking as well.
Deputy Head of the Crisis Team
Hello everyone, I am Dimitris. This year I have the honour to serve as deputy Head of Crisis. MRC 2019 would be my third-one! See you all in Rhodes.
Bright, calm, adventurous, solution finder, strategist
Dimitris is a student of international relations (a graduate by the time our conference starts) at the University of Macedonia, in the department of International and European Studies. In the -not so distant- future, he plans to enhance his academic profile with a MA in Strategic Studies (specifically naval strategy and war).
In a cluster of memories and a period of three joyful years, Dimitris has been regularly involved with model UN and participated in quite a few conferences and projects surrounding his academic field of interests. Furthermore, he completed his traineeship as a Political and Social Analyst and took part in specific activities of NRDC-GR (Headquarters of NATO in Greece). He completed as-well his internship at the Greek Embassy in London and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (A3 Directorate for Southeastern European Countries, during the Prespa Agreement period)
Dimitris believes that one has to maintain a multifaceted personality. Thus he travels a lot, worked as a cook in the States; he declares unfailingly in love with every aspect of art and always carries a book (or two) alongside. He is more than excited although to be part of such an amazing group of individuals called Rhodes MRC family.
RhodesMRC Memory
Rhodes MRC 2018 was a blast! The conference was a huge success, as every MRC I had the pleasure to be part of. I’ve gained numerous experiences that have enriched my memories and boosted certain parts of my character. If I had to recall a specific memory, it has to be my trip to Lindos among cherished friends and the tastiest orange juice I’ve ever had!
