SDG 13
One of the 17 goals of the United Nations for Sustainable Development is Climate Action in order to combat the impact of climate change. Amongst the consequences of climate change it is important to mention the increase of the average global temperature, the rising sea levels as well as the extreme weather conditions.
I personally believe that climate change calls for immediate action to be taken by everyone. There are simple practices we can adopt in our daily life in order to contribute to this effort. For example, I recycle, I avoid transfer by car or public transport. I also try to reduce the consumption of water and energy in my daily life. Let’s all try to act responsibly towards the environment!
NATO Secretary General
Hello everyone! My name is Polyxeni Botou and I am the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Council in RhodesMRC 2019. This academic experience will be unforgettable for all participants!
Passionate, decisive, hard-working, calm, realist
Polyxeni Botou is currently in the final year of her studies in the Faculty of Law of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and she is mostly interested in international public law.
She has served as Director for Academic Activities of European Law Students’ Association (ELSA Thessaloniki) for the academic year 2017/18. Additionally, she has participated in several MUNs since they constitute for her an opportunity to have experiences of high academic level and meet new people at the same time. She has also represented the Aristotle University in the 2019 Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.
She speaks English, Italian and French, loves books and has a diploma in ballet as well.
It is the fourth time she participates in RhodesMRC, which she considers to offer an amazing experience through its high academic level and passionate people.
RhodesMRC Memory
My memories from RhodesMRC are always combined with the amazing sites of Rhodes, the unforgettable social events after each day’s sessions (not to mention the food of this island), and of course all the moments during the conference, especially from my participation in crisis committees.
